Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, at the launch meeting of the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and Action Plan held at the Davutpaşa campus of Yıldız Technical University, while he is stating that they continue to work in line with Turkey's goals of "becoming a global logistics superpower" and "becoming one of the world's 10 largest economies" with investments, he said that they are working on mobility, logistics and digitalization within the framework of holistic development and "Transportation 2053" vision.
As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the concepts of "decarbonization", "electrification", "safety", "digitalization" and "accessibility" that stand out in transportation are aimed at reducing transport-oriented carbon emissions by 50 percent by 2030 and reaching the zero carbon target by 2050 within the scope of the European Green Deal.
In the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and Action Plan, it was stated that it is aimed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by developing sustainable and smart transport, green maritime and green port applications, railway transport and to expand the use of micro mobility vehicles.
He also said that they are intensively working on the phased removal of fossil-fueled vehicles in the urban environment, and that they plan to implement the 'Determination of the Location Selection of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations and the Creation of a Simulation Program' in order to develop the appropriate charging infrastructure for electric vehicles that will contribute to the reduction of dependence on oil and greenhouse gas emissions. He said that the developments and changes in the transportation of micro-mobility vehicles, the use of which is increasing day by day in our country, have expanded the areas of use of these vehicles and that they have started to make the deliveries of the PTT with e-scooter vehicles. He added that the number of e-scooters used in the PTT reached 700 in December 2022, up from 500 as of August 2022.
