ITS Türkiye’s 5th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting Was Held

The 5th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of our association was held on 30 May Tuesday at The Ankara Hotel. In addition to our association members, Mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül, senior officials from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, representatives from metropolitan municipalities, representatives of several private companies, academicians and researchers from universities conducting research activities in the field of ITS attended the meeting.

Before the general assembly, membership certificates were given to the new members of the association by our association’s president. We welcome again our new members who joined us and contributes to Turkish ITS community.  

The "4th International Intelligent Transportation Systems Summit (SUMMITS’23)", which is traditionally organised by our association every year, was postponed due to the earthquake disaster happened in our country, which was centred in Kahramanmaraş and affected 11 provinces. The "6th Path of the Mind Awards in Transportation", which were planned to be presented at the summit, were presented to their winners at the General Assembly Meeting. During the organisation, where 17 applications were awarded in 8 categories, Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Samsun Metropolitan Municipality were awarded in the category of Municipalism. Mr. Zeynel Abidin BEYAZGÜL, who is the mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, received the award with the “Traffic Safety Analysis Platform” project. We congratulate all the winners of the “6th Path of the Mind Awards in Transportation” and thank to our stakeholders for their valuable works and interests to ITS Türkiye’s activities.

Appreciation certificates of the authors, who contributed to our industry with their academic articles, were presented by Prof. Dr. Halit ÖZEN, who is a faculty member of Yıldız Technical University.

After the award ceremony and presentation of appreciation certificates, the agenda was discussed at the 5th Ordinary General Assembly and the new term Board of Directors and Board of Audit of ITS Türkiye were elected. We wish the new period to be beneficial for the ITS ecosystem and wish success to the member of our Board of Directors and Board of Audit in their future works.
